I figured that too much explanation was more than someone who believed Obama was responsible for the alcohol in his gas needed. I really didn't want to fuel his fire and tell him that President Carter was in office. That looks to me to be when the government really got serious about alcohol blending efforts. You know you popped his bubble. Now Carl will have someone else to blame.

I've noticed that more often than not, facts don't seem to matter...
If it's running good you should be fine now. The thing is, if you plan on letting it sit for long periods of time, better put stabilizer in your tank. It is true that ethanol is somewhat corrosive to plastic or rubber parts. The best way to maintain a Harley is to run them a lot, even in the cold weather. A good highway ride once a week is so good for the machine.
I just read somewhere that the alcohol Obammy has them add to our gas is the reason why the FI gas tanks have pin holes in the pick up tube.
When you read that, did you ask yourself how alcohol could possibly cause a hole in a fuel line?
The cause of the holes was those in tank fuel lines were too long and rubbed on the fuel tank wearing holes in them. You're welcome.
I strickly run the good non ethanol gas, (unless forced to buy the crap out on a ride somewhere). My troubles started with the long fuel hose rubbing in the tank to the point of a large hole....Harley wisley manf. a shorter hose to remedy this problem. So far it's running good, looking fwd to a few toy runs this month...:-)

sorry to hear of the bad time you're having. there are many things left out in this though. How many miles on the bike? what kind of bike? sounds like its used, you're fixing it yourself, not warranty. how well has the bike been maintained? For the most part, fi is very reliable, the hoses do get a hole in them, and any fuel pressure regulator can stick, (which, by now, you're figured out that was the original problem, not the hose.) So this is why I am asking the other questions, the history of any vehicle is going to make or break the experience, You might want an experienced harley mechanic to go over the bike and check everything over and bring it up to snuff so you can trust it better, and even then, as in any vehicle, there are always lemons, you may have one, I pray not, but. Lastly, harley is not THE best ever reliable bike, but its pretty damn good, you might just need to get a little more patience (something I have very little of, by the way!! ) and it will start giving smiles per mile. Good luck
I can empathize with your issues, had a '72 police special but "harleycharlie1992" could not have said it better....great advice/suggestions and good luck.
