I've been using my HF lift table for years on everything from dirt bikes to my wide glide to several different road glides and I've never though it was unstable. Are there nicer lifts out there? You betcha. There's nicer bikes out there than mine too, but my bike does the job, and so does my lift table. When I win the lottery I'll have a whole garage full of nice tools and expensive bikes. Until then my old craftsman tools and my HF table keep my bike (as well as several of my friend's and relative's bikes) on the road and me riding.

cardboard we have 3 hf lifts and one black widow... they work awesome... jsut use the stop bar so the weight is not on your jack it is trans though the whole table... the only thing i like about the black widow over the HF lift is the pneumatic pump and the larger wheel vice... but hell remove them anyway!

i did add the chucks to the front HF sells just coated them to match the lift... they work great... i also added some loops to the front of the lift for tie downs

shot of my scoot up on the black widow lift

ooh ya i have pics of everything from custom choppers to full baggers on the HF lifts with no issues at all!!! actually it is easier to get the custom chops on the HF lifts as they tend to go lower than the other ones out there

Let bust your under educated cherry here , that's the old gray Handylift now being made by another company . I have personally seen 2 of those fall over with a bike on them in professional shops over the years , we never found the cause in either case .

So your " real " lift " is no better than the less expensive ones and honestly if you would have used a little common sense and made a braces for the rear of the lift instead of relying on the jack alone you wouldn't have had any problems . I've had one of the cheap lifts in constant use for 9 yrs now , I have shop at home and never had an issue with the table construction or bending .

I cut a couple oak boards for the rear to use as braces to supplement the bar on the front , common sense use it .

Had the better hydraulic /air Harbor Freight bike lift table
To collapse and let my bike fall sideways from the cheap
Steel in it
I had to jump on the side to balance it with my EG on it
If it had of fell on me I would of had 800 lbs on me
Save your money and get a better table like so

I almost bought one a year or so ago. ( no room to store another large object led me to defer )HF has two lift tables, the one you listed is rated ( and built better) for heavier loads. I saw them in operation at our local HF store. The use 4 of them daily in the back room to load and unload stock. I would definitely NOT recommend the cheaper one, it is really a lot less durable and stable. The guys in the back room said theirs have held up well and not had to be replaced or repaired.

Default HF Tables

I picked up a "returned" table up at HF. Manager advised me, the previous owner couldn't get his GoldWing pumped up on the lift. I got a discount and checked it out when I got it home. I added half a bottle of Jack Oil as per the Table's instructions. Works fine, last long time. I never put it up with out the brace bar any more than I would fail to use jack stands under my truck. I teach Plant Operators to perform preventative maintenance. One student did'nt know what the lever on the back of the ratchet was for. I sense there are some mechanics and some .....operators on here.
