Does anyone know about what the HD 3 year warranty extension plan costs these days?
How much real dollar value does this add when reselling the bike?
I'm sure it helps (get more $ and/or sell quicker), but is it kind of like accessories where you get some % of cost benefit in reselling (e.g.) costs $1,000 and you can get $250 more for the bike if it has ESP?
Well first and foremost you need to understand the ESP that is offered is NOT a Harley warranty extension. Its an insurance policy from an official licensed seller. With that said, you can buy it anywhere and it the same as if you bought it at your local dealer. Call Debbie @ Bloomington HD, they are running a special right now, buy 1 year and get 2 free. Thats 3 years of ESP for the price of 1 (800-667-7939) The price depends on the model you have and the age & mileage. The only catch is you have to pay local sales tax at the rate levied in the dealers location. Debbie tells me it's 7% for her area.

Thanks
Dont think it adds any value but maybe piece of mind to the buyer.
Just hope the bike sells for what your asking.
Not worth the money you pay in my opinion and it would not give me incentive to buy one bike over another particularly if it was added into the resale price.
Just traded bikes and found out that when you sell or trade the dealer who sold you the ESP will give you a "cancellation form" which you fill out and send back to them. You will get a pro-rated refund for the remaining months left on the ESP.
Jim Palmer at Kutter HD in Janesville, WI will give you a good deal.
I bought a four year extended warranty from the MoCo when I bought my bike. About $400 a year. Covers everything, even road damage to tires and wheels and case leaks, with the exception of normal maintenance items. They said they'd even provide a rental car and lodging if you had a major failure on the road away from home. Seemed like cheap insurance when you consider the cost of repair.
