For many years I averaged around 10,000 miles /yr. on my Heritage Softail Special. this is in upstate NY, where the riding season is about 7 months long. in the past few years, it's slacked off a bit and this year I managed only 6,000 miles.

I have 168,000 miles on my '94, with no plans to retire it.

well, if you want to look at it that way, then after you've ridden the 2000 miles, it's all free money

i average between 12-15k per year. when i traded in my 07 for my 2010, i had 40k on it. my 2010 now has 25k on it and i haven't had it for 2 years yet....

Living in Seattle I get ~5k a year. I don't like riding in the rain but will ride regardless of how cold it gets. ~32 today and rode into work.

In March of this year I bought an 04 Road King with just under 14000 on it. The original owner had it for a year and put about 7500 miles on it before selling it to the second owner who put about 6000 on over the next 5 years. I rode about 4000 since I've had it. Point is, it varies from rider to rider. There are some good low mileage bikes available if you look.

I've had my Road King since the end of August. Around the end of January, beginning of February I'll be doing the 10K service.

I expect to be putting on about about 20K a year, I reckon.

Well, the answer to your question really varies a lot depending on your riding style and how much you ride. I took a few long trips this year but really did a lot of my riding within 150 miles of my house. I rode back and forth to work every day and rode almost every weekend and I logged about 5500 miles this season. I've got friends who've ridden double the miles I have as well as a few who'v ridden less than half of that. It just depends on you. As far as gas mileage goes. I'm getting about 150 miles on a full tank before the "get your *** to gas" light comes on. I've never run it till it's died but from those figures I'm averaging somewhere in the 30-35mpg mark. I could probably average better numbers with a tuner, but right now I'm running a stage 2 and new pipes with no tuner.

It's a hobby and a great one.

You never see a Harley at a shrink's office!
I have and after getting out of the military when I was seeing one regularly.....you'd see mine..
