bunch of haters it seems. it looks good to me. and is as useful to him as he needs it to be i would guess. show off at bike night, haul *** red light to redlight.
as for it being a harley, no it not, but then again just how many fo the fully custom bikes really are? not many i bet. i dont see 75k in it if he did all the work himself. unless by all the work he meant buying every piece from someplace and bolting it together. not bending steel and building it.
In 2010 at BUB speed week at Bonneville I was in line with a Marine on a similar looking chopper, but with no bling. Long wide glide front end, rigid frame, 90" Evo, 4-speed with kick start. He pulled 132 mph avg through the measured mile. His biggest problem was keeping his feet on the hiway pegs cause above ~ 85 mph the vibration and wind makes your feet want to slide out. He had less than 10 grand in the bike.
fwiw long bikes track true at speed and he had a steering dampener
My near 180hp Harley cost a tad over $22k to build without a huffer hanging off the side.Just saying and it is in a bagger. With some mechanical skills and no fear of diving into a project like this you can save big money.
