I can tell you where NOT to hang it. On the light bar above the front fender. One big pot hole and I have a bell shaped dent in my front fender.

I ground down part of my bell hanging off of the floorboard on my Heritage. Had to move it higher.

Get a relationship with your maker, put the bell in a drawer. Nearly all bikes in shops for damage have bells on 'em... just sayin'

Funny.

I thought the real value of the bell was seeing which of your riding mates thought enough about you to give you one for your ride.

Hanging on the bike was simply something you did out of sincere appreciation for their kind gesture and friendship.
