Use your best judgement & if the post has anything to do w/Touring bike classification...post in Touring b/c you're collaborating w/same model owners. If the post is not remotely related...let Moderators do their job & move it appropriately.
Not good etiquette to start off questioning everything - look around & get familiar w/site for a bit.
I thought (as mentioned in the first post) that the touring section had turned into general chat. So my question was specifically related to the touring section, I guess i feel the question has its own uniqueness like say TWB
Yes this is the Touring Section, 99% of the posts wether they be general or complex are made by Touring Bike Riders. Hence they are in the correct section
The Touring Section, Is used by Touring Riders as their own little corner of the Fourms, Many of us never venture into the other fourms except for maybe the Touring Classifieds!
Our bikes are completely different than any other bikes on the fourm, and we ride them completely differently than the other bikes on the fourms in that we ride them on a routine basis. They are more likely to be used for general transportation than the other bikes on the fourms.
So yes, the touring section is for the touring rider.
We post it here because it lessens the severity of the attacks from the people who think that radios, heated gear, cruise control, coffee makers, CB's, windshields or fairings don't belong on a motorcycle.
The touring section is for people who own touring bikes to discuss what ever they want to related to their bike. I have posted things in this section that you would have considered to be better in the general chat. However, I disagree. As mentioned before, people in this section can better relate to my posts. SO no offense intended, but I'm going to continue to post "anything" i believe is related to my bike in anyway. I hope this does not deter you from posting and enjoying the best forum. Welcome
It appears that 90 - 95% of things posted in the touring section should be general chat items. Why so much crap in a touring section? Shouldn't the touring section be about your rides, your modicifactions, paint job etc to touring bikes. No offense to the many posters but how to hook up a heated jacket, how to swap handle bars or what type of oil cooler, what type of oil are general chat crap. Just curious what others think? Maybe this is just the wrong forum for me, but there is a lot of nonsense in this touring section.
