Went with my son to Renegade HD in Alexandria La on the 26th so that my son could look at a used metric bike. We checked out the bike in question and found that someone had put aftermarket pipes on the bike without putting on a tuner. The bike had less than 6k miles on it and had already started burning valves, so that was out of the question. Before we left he bought a brand new 2012 Dyna Super Glide, black. He traded in his first street bike (Shadow 750) it was a good starter bike but he outgrew it pretty quick.
He's had the bike for about a week now and has put 300 miles on it smilin the whole time.
I'd like to brag about my son for a few minutes so if you don't want to read it just skip this part. He's 19 years old, fulltime college student and a fulltime employee at a parts house up the road. Pretty damn good mechanic and a good worker. He doesn't get in trouble and will tell you how it is real quick. He knew how much he could afford to spend on the bike and held them to his budget. I guess you could say I'm proud of my son.
That is outstanding! You have a right to be a proud Dad! Tell him congrats on moving up to a Harley from a Honda Shadow....I did the same thing, only took me a lot longer.
You deserve to be proud! It is nice to see children that have been taught and actually learned the merits of an education, good work ethics and money sense. I wish more parents actually parented their children instead of cuddling them. Congrats to both you and your son. And, oh yeah, congrats to your son for having the good sense to buy a Harley.
