Not sure what year bike you have...
But on the 2012 Limited it is mounted on the left side of the steering neck...you can reach your hand under there and feel it. It is a small plastic black box...about 3/4-1/2 square. It is mounted on the neck with a rivet.

What you doing...installing a oil temp gauge? or just wanting to know where the temp is reading from?
As a side note, you can extend the wires (only 2) and get the sensor out from behind the fairing. This way the temp will be closer to the actual ambiance.
I wanted to change it out to a HD compass, which I might have more use, but have heard bad things about them. And I don't really need to know the oil temp. So I kept the air temp gauge, at least for now....
