This is funny one of the guys I served with and I were just discussing Blackwater this morning. Saw a guy that reminded us of one of the BW guys that lived in our camp in Iraq. As with all organizations you have good folks and ****-heads. BW had more of the latter, but still quite a few of the former. They had less rules than us and some had no problem throwing that around.

Most of them I knew would consider this good for their image, cause it contributes to the "bad-***" image that the company thrives and depends on. I wouldn't doubt if the idea originated in the corporate offices.

Just for accuracy sake...Use of Blackwater predates the Obama administration

Actually, the Bush administration hired them and fired them and I don't think they are contractors in Afghanistan any more. It has only been a couple of years since I was there, but the guys we worked with were Paravant, then they got fired and transferred their employees to MPRI. I don't know of Blackwater having anybody in the country then.

Probably not a "they" just a "he." Just like some guys have patches with "U.S. Army" on top and "Afghanistan" on the bottom and things like that. You can have them made in Afghanistan for about $10. The Afghans specialized in motorcycle/Harley stuff. I have Harley bar and Shield logo patches with my name in place of "Motor Cycles" and a jacket with a Harley "swept-wing" logo with the Afghan campaign ribbon and U.S. Army replacing the words.

You need to get a clue before posting stuff like that. You could not have been more wrong. Blackwater and the independent contractors were the child of Dick Cheney. Research it and learn... I don't think anyone could make a claim that Cheney and Obama are working together...

The IC stands for "Independent Contractor"

It seems that the paw print is/was Blackwater's logo and IC is Independent Contractor.

What exactly did you find incorrect in my post? Read it again (slowly). I stated they were:

1) A private security company. True
2) Had changed their name to Xe Securities. True
3) They had been accused of indescretions. True
4) They were hired by Obama's admistartion to go to Afghanistan. True

No where in my post did I mention who orignially hired them under the name Blackwater. I didn't think I needed to give the OP a detailed history lesson.

All I know is Obama's administration hired them after they changed their name to Xe Services and cleaned up their act, then sent them to Afghanistan. If you want to get into a pissing match, I'm your man.
