Default Stage 1 Problem

I have a 2004 Ultra Classic that I just recently installed a set of Wild Pig Slip Ons, a K & N filter and had a local HD dealer do a stage 1 download. Since having the stage 1 download the bike will occasionally hesitate (miss) when taking off from a stop. Since it doesn't do this after every start the dealer doesn't seem to be able to find the problem. Does anyone have a suggestion how to correct this problem.

Dealer should be able to tweak the throttle position and sensitivity. Which download did you get? the $150 download or the SERT or PT ?

My guess is they put in the wrong map for your bike. The bike should run like a top. Make em do it over or get your money back and go to another dealer.

My only advice is that if it did not miss before it went to the dealer, and now it does, take it back and have them make it right.

It pisses me off when you spend a grip of your hard earned money and you are all excited to put it on and sh** like this happens. Had more than my share of this. Hope it all works out for ya. Give the dealer some sh** for me.

if the dealer can't figure it out i'd say that dealer is pretty worthless. what kind of service manager let's a customers bike leave the shop with a diagnosis of "can't figure it out"? i'd be PISSED

Yea it was the $150 download and I agree with taking it back to dealer except the dealer is in Gattlinburg Tn and I am in Florida. I had this done while on a road trip to replace a defective module that was on the bike when I bought it. This was the best option at the time since I was 500 miles from home. I guess my only option now is to take it to a dealer here in Florida and see what they can do.

Might be worth a phone call to the TN dealer. Maybe they'll send you a check.

When the boss lady's RKC was brand new she had the download and it ran poorly and they just made a bunch of excuses. Anyway I installed a Power Commander I happened to have and I did have to dick with changing maps but haven't looked back since.

I have an 07 they did the download and after 20,00 the plugs looked like the were put in the day before so maybe a tad on the leans side but runs great.
