Well, Evel is quite a character himself! He was/still is such an image, that he fiercely defends the artistic value of his persona. I think this new issue is good entertainment... it probly focuses Evel's energies on something other than the major physical pain his abused body causes.
His son, Robbie, jumped over a large bar/restaurant/casino here a few years back. It went so smooth even though the ramps and parabola of the jump were awesome, that he turned right around and did it going back the other way... the crowd loved it!
Yeah you're right... he couldn't possibly be trying to distinguish himself from this scumbag ghetto rapper could he? Nah...
So what're you getting your kids for Christmas? A Kanye West video? The Pamela Anderson sex tape in surround sound? I'm not scared of alot of sh-t, but the future ain't lookin' too good right now dudes. Might be time to hang a 180 on this stuff dontcha think? Just my 2.
Way to go Evel !!! He has always been a stand up guy, in book... I followed him when he used to do live jumps on ABC's Wide World of Sports. He would always give kids pep talks to do right. He rode a Harley Sportster XR 750, a heavy bike for a jumper. Meaning he had to have a high arcing jump to make the distance, unlike the ones today who use MX type bikes. Lighter bike = straighter, faster arc, safer landing. My favorite quote of Evel's "Anybody can jump a motorcycle. The trouble begins when you try to land it".
