I'm going to this

4-days, $100 includes a t-shirt, two meals, and discounts on lodging along the route.

Hey - I need something to do on my 50th b-day that is somewhat legal.....

Got a free membership to HOG and the local HOG Chapter when I bought my bike. Just renewed the chapter for another year ($24.00).
I did this so I could take advantage of the sponsoring dealerships 10% discounts. They run these discounts the last weekend of the month.
Nothing against HOG but not really for me.

So you spent $45 for HOG membership and $24 for chapter membership to "earn" a 10% discount. So you gotta spend $690 to get your $69 back to break even. Oh, forgot about that "free patch and pin".

I did the Route 66 Tour in 2010. Pricey, but almost worth it. I got great room rates and found that there was a dealer event with plenty of food most nights. Now, eating in a parking lot isn't my idea of dinner, so I didn't eat much at those deals, but many did.

For Route 66, I thought all in all, I'd recommend the tour. We got to ride over the Chain of Rocks Bridge and got vouchers for Ted Drewe's and other Route 66 icons.

For this one or the LA-Vegas Tour in June, I'm kinda' skeptical. But, I live in Colorado and have visited all of the locations before.

Like I said, Got a FREE membership to HOG (they are 2 year memberships), so I figure my total cost at $24.00.
Already spent $123.00 (pre-discount) this year (and the bikes stored for the winter), so I think I'll do Ok. But thanks for your concern.

Admissions to all designated tour activities.

Associate Package: $325.00

Really? If I want to go to a HOG rally, I can go to the state one for $35 and even that's overpriced (and they give you a KY state rally coin). Of course, I won't have a tour guide.

I figured $325 included your hotel stay, at least.

That's like paying $325 for absolutely nothing.

For $325 to $425 I can go on the same tour, including hotels and gas, without a bunch of HOG members.

Here the chapter membership is only $15 and you can get that back from going to 2 or 3 of their free meals in the year, usually during bike shows at the dealership, and they have good rides, so it's not a bad deal.

Well, I'm gonna go, if only to report back to the forum on whether it was worth it. If anyone else decides to come along, drop me line!

Might want to check on that TWO year membership. Unless HOG made a recent change, they have always been one year memberships unless you elected to pay for a Life membership.
