Well, I guess i'm the only one that ruined a brand new tire after letting mine sit on it durring the winter. First year I had the bike I parked it in my shed for the winter and in the spring the tire wobbled like crazy, only 2000 miles on the bike. Rim was as straight as could be, but the bars shook and if you looked down you could see the front tire wobble side to side. Now I keep it up on a jack durring the winter.
where i live we have snow which means we have snow blowers. my snow blower is 21 years old and i just replaced 1 tire on it because of dry rot. i think a cheep *** snow blower tire isn't built nearly as good as a motorcycle tire. if your bike tire lasts 21 years your not riding enough. i never worried about my bike sitting a few months.

worst thing that can happen from sitting, is weather checking (cracking) of the sidewalls. A tire can have plenty of tread and still be bad if the sidewalls are cracking.
Sometimes referred to as "dry rot", and its very bad for tires. Especially on a motorcycle where a catistrophicsidewall failure can lead tospectacularlyugly aftereffects with long hospital stays.
Not to be confused with "crotch rot" which can also be catistrophic with ugly aftereffects
