It was 61 today, so I thought the wife and I would ride about an hour to a local lake and back. The first five miles, the wind was wicked and then the gust were worse. It was blowing me halfway across the lane. So I wussed out, turned around and came back. (I could feel her tensing on my shoulders anyway) Checked the weather after I was parked and discovered a wind advisory with 45 mph gust. I should have checked before I left.

I put the bike back on the road here in Manchester, UK last Friday 2nd March, but the local council have decided to throw salt on the road again after it got a bit cold last night. Its down for rain day after tommorow and then warm and sunny. Il be back on the road then, its a hickup, but at least I got out on Friday evening with the wife after work. Sad thing was I had to ride past one of the HD dealerships that had closed last year. Its all boarded up with the HD flags still flying.
Despite that had a nice first ride into the country through the lanes, stopped off in a little village and bought some fish and chips and a cup of tea to warm us up, before heading back. Roll on summer.

- - winter is over in Tulsa, OK. It's going to be in the 70's this afternoon. I am going to ride the old Route 66 through town and then head west for a while, make a U and come back home.
In contrast to last year, it's been a great winter for riding, I have been able to ride at least once a week all winter. Life if good!
