If you want to tip him tip him why does it matter what anyone here says? Or did you just want a way to say you have a new bike coming?
You asked and then you question those who say don't do it... Weird. Sort of like my wife and the bullshit fashion show every night as she figures out what to wear for work. She asks me I tell her she ignores it.

Never really questioned anybody but responded to the comment which was something like he's already getting paid........why tip. I'm married to a waitress and have learned that good service provided to you by someone not making a ton of bread warrants a tip. What comes around goes around so it's all good. The main reason for posting this was to also get some kind of ballpark figure in case it's commonplace to tip in these instances so I didn't look like a cheapo.
I earned my living for a few years delivering bikes & ATV's for an outfit called 'Ride Now' in Phoenix. I got tipped a total of two times in that 2 years, not counting the occasional bottled water. Once was $10.00, and the other was about $30.00 in pizza coupons from Peter Piper Pizza, the guy was some big wig in the company. I never expected to get tipped, I never much thought about it. But the couple times I did it was very much appreciated. I used the pizza coupons and brought the the Pizza's back to work to make some brownie points with my co-workers. Worked good!
Most those guys only catch **** from people , a smile , a hearty thanks if it's intact and undamaged plus a couple $20's might give the guy a smile for a long time . Remember if something did get damaged it wasn't the the driver , 99.9% is done by bad packaging or rough handling on the docks . The guy behind the wheel is rarely involved .
