Cheers guys, exactly what I thought.

As I said at the start, I never intended to buy the bike and would never part with any cash until I had met with the seller and properly checked over the bike and paperwork.

You would think the scammer would have checked the grammar before trying to say he was in charge of a naval base, maybe too stupid to have thought of it!

Cup - I did, if you click on the 'here' in the original post or if that didn't work for you try:

Those guys from Nigeria where most scams like this originate are not the sharpest crayons in the box.

Total scam. Anytime a seller launches into a long winded back story and gives free shipping, It's a scam.

Perhaps it's legit perhaps not. I too inquired of the ad and got the exact response. I forwrded the ad to NAS Kingville with an explanation of how I received it, along with my personal information. Perhaps they will wish to investigate and deal appropriately with the gentleman. I proudly served many years ago and take a dim view of those who would usurp status or awards they did not earn for their personal gain.

Actually, P.T. Barnum most likely did not say that:

I think I see a red flag right behind that bike...

I love it actually, but due to the right side shift, would never own it.

The latest from our commanding officer. I emailed him regarding seeing the bike Told him I could be there tomorrow, this is his reply. I am going to wait to see if I hear from Kingsville before I reply.
Hi Mike,

Thank you for your promt reply.

As I told you at this moment I am in Naval Air Station Kingsville , TEXAS getting ready for Iraq. We have a very strict program in here, please believe me that I barley have time to open the computer. All i can tell is that the bike is in excellent condition, with everything working on it. All consumables(oil, brakes) changed, tires in very good shape. The bike will be delivered through air cargo to UK and from there by a military truck at your home address. Delivery of the bike will takes 5 days. I will do this transaction through UKbike.com . All I need is your full name and address so I can contact them and after that they will contact you regarding this purchase. They act as a third party and will protect both of us in this transaction.

I am waiting your e-mail.

Regards,

Alexander Ritchie

Since he is a fake it would be great if a computer whiz could track the location of his computer using his IP address. I'm sure there are now at least several agencies that would like to have a chat with him.
