Just received it thursday.200 mile test ride on Sat. Temp range from 29* to 60*All I can say is get you some.Long sleeve t-shirt,the liner and my leather jacket. No multiple layers to make you feel Pillsbury dough boy.Highest setting I used on the controller was half way.Toasty warm, body and arms.I had also ordered the gloves but they're on back order.Keeping your body core warm allows your extremitys to stay warmer. No chaps, just long johns under my jeans.I got the dual contoller and had the liner wired for seperate glove circuits.I'll be riding in weather 30 to 40* in comfortwhen before I would have driven. http://www.gerbing.com/
madmech, I just got my Gerbing jacket liner this week. I ordered the wrong size initially and the people there were more than helpfull in exchanging it for me. I got the dual controller also but havent decided if I want the classic gloves or the new G3 gloves. Which ones did you order? I tried on a pair of the classics and they were a bit bulky, but they didnt have any of the G3s for me to compare them to so I'm undecided at this time................BG
Big George,I ordered the g3 gloves cause I don't like bulky ones.Unfortunatly they're on back order. When I ordered the liner,I measured the arm length wrong.I'm gonna call them this week to see if they can rectify this and how much ittil cost me... Russ
I've always worn a couple of layers of warm clothing under a heavy leather riding jacket, jeans with chaps, thinsulate gloves, and full face helmet to ride in the cold. I rode Christmas evewith a32 degree temp.
These items sound pretty interesting.
I'm going to order some now!
madmech, that was the problem I had. The sleve length was too short (my mistake when ordering). I called Gerbing and a woman told me exactly what I needed to do to send it back. She will assign you a number that they use to identify you with and make the necessary correctionsor exchanges to your item.I did have to pay for the shipping and insurance (about $14 priority mail) but since it was my mistake I didnt mind the additional cost. The correct size jacket came about a week after I sent the original one back and the new one fits perfect .Let me know how you like the G3 gloves when you get them.
Toyman, go to the Gerbing web site and they will have a list of shops in each state that carries their clothing. If you dont have a store in your area you will have to order on line or over the phone direct to Gerbing. HD sells heated clothing but its made by Gerbing with the HD logo at a higher price. I am in no way associated with Gerbing, just a happy customer........................BG
An update on this company. When I ordered the liner Iscrewed up on the sleeve length measurement and wound up with them being 4 inches short. So I called them today and the gal said no prob, send it back and they'll ship a new one.Mind you this one was custom made for my "short" arms. She says 4 inches longer is off the shelf item, should have the new one in about a week,no charge. My screwup, they're gonna make it right anyway.Don't get no better than that!! Russ
I went on a 20 mile test run tonight in my heated pants and gloves, It was 35 degrees andI could have road as long asI wanted. Didn't even have the gloves plugged in, and they are the warmest gloves I have ever had. Great stuff
