I read a thread last night (Tuesday) and posted a response. The guy was ranting about RUBs and how he was in a Club for years and how he hated the new harley riders for wearing leather and black T shirts. Went looking for it tonight and it was gone. Did I miss something?
Appears it got yanked, though I didn't think it was nothing more than a pretty mild rant against wannabes. Sometimes ya gotta be able to vent, y'know? Unless something came up after I posted that was really raunchy, I don't think pulling it was necessary. And then it might've been better to just pull the offending post and not the whole thread. Ain't much on censorship, though moderatin' us buncha blozos must get frustrating at times!
It apears so. I, for one, PM'd Mac (don't even know if he's around or busy working) and suggested that it be pulled. I did that at the point when the new "ranter-troll" posted 2 very nasty, very personal name-calling against one of our long time members. I could only see this thread getting worse, so I suggested that it be pulled. Don't know if my suggestion was ever heard or if others told people about it or if the moderaters just took it off themselves.
I know that I'm not that powerful or influential as I have "begged" for the "Are Spoester's Girls Bikes" thread to be killed, but every couple weeks, some new member noticess it and it starts up again.
That's all the info I have. Art
I pulled that thread because of it's content. I felt that it was demeaning to people and we have a great bunch of people here that I don't think they deserve to be put down by somebody that just joined and on his second post starts the name calling. Didn't see any reason it should be left up there other wise it could have turned into a flame war after a while. Don't like to have to do this but I've seen on other sites where it festers like an infection after a few posts. 99.9 % of us enjoy HD Forums for what it is, a place to get information about our passions and we would like to keep it a great place to visit without the name calling or profanity and such.

Thanks for the understanding
I joined here because of the friendly atmosphere. You guys accepted me at face value. I had never riden a HD before I bough my RK in May. I have posted and read many posts but have always thought of this place as a very positive experience.
It wasn't that bad when I logged off the other night but I could see where it was heading. Went to check on it last night and it was gone. I spent about an hour looking for it before I posted this thread.

I think a lot of the newbies are so used to the turmoil that goes on with other sites, that they tend to think that's the normal way you conversate on a site. That's one of the many reasons I really like this site, because it is basically civil and kept that way, so people like you and me can enjoy it, without all the garbage. I'm like Skip I think you should be able to voice your opinion, but do it in a civil minded way.
