I'm new to this forum and new to riding, so I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I replaced the spark plugs but didn't snap one in all the way. I proceeded to ride about 70 miles and noticed that over 70mph the engine light was turning on, when I got home I checked the wire and plug and snapped it in correctly. My question is, why did the light turn on at that speed then turn back off, and would that have caused any damage to internal parts? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Not trying to be sarcasstic, I just hadn't bothered to navigate the webpage, went straight to post the question.

it happens you're new no harm no foul. It does sound like a vacuum leak from what I'm reading.

Even though it wasn't fully seated you still had some contact. The wind or vibration at that speed may have interrupted the contact so intermittent spark.
No damage done, sounds like you have fixed the problem.
