I really enjoy reading these threads on this forum...I find some of them real informative and some really ridiculous whining...About Harley Davidson's...Everything from complaints about the Motor Company...To the dealers that sell them...The parts dept. ...The service dept. ...The cost of parts ...The cost of maintenance...To the quality of the motorcycles...The comfort of the bikes...The wind ...The noises...The heat...maybe this is just a good place to come and bitch about everything...If I were thinking about buying a Harley for the first time and read about some of the complaints on here...I would have second thoughts about owning one...I have owned Harley's and other branded bikes for years...Nope they are not perfect...But I enjoy riding a Harley more than any other brand...I am just curious as to WHY anyone would want to own one after reading through some of these threads...Maybe it is the motorcycle that some people just love to hate.
No different than anything else. Go to one of the tractor forums or a gun forum and you will see the same thing. People like to chew the fat, the internet just makes it easier. In the old days we would gather at the local diner for coffee and do the same thing.
I for one am glad I found this place and started a thread about stealer and their 1000 maintenance!!!!my Dealer is 300$ more than any other in area......glad I checked first
Why not ride a Harley?
There are a lot of different personalities here and sometimes people use it as a place to vent or are looking for a reality check.
I could care less about what some guy's neighbor's friend rides or what his girlfriend wears or looks like.
Why? I just feel more at home on a Harley! I think it's human nature to complain about something that goes wrong or how you are treated when you spend $10K to $30K on something.
Sometimes it is simply out right complaining by folks that will never be happy with anything. Most of the time I think it is more 'hey, this happened to me, this is how I feel, has anyone else been through this?'
I've come to the conclusion in life that some people just like to bitch. IDK if they were raised that way or if life turned them that way or what, but for some, it's their "normal". HD forum is no different.
