I used to park in the yellow hashed areas. After seeing bikes on more than once occasion parked in the blue hash areas near handicap spots I decided to stop. It pissed me off to see them parked near the handicap spots and I know it probably pissed off a lot of non-riders who saw it too. I park in a normal spot. If I'm that worried about my bike getting run over at Wal-Mart, or anywhere else for that matter, I'll go in my truck.

The lines are painted that way for a reason. What don't you understand about NO PARKING.

They may be required by ordinance or zoning to provide parking, what I was saying was that violating the lines painted on private property does not constitute breaking the law in most places.

I agree with the sentiment but think excuse may be a better word

In my city, they've put motorcycles parkings everywhere, really easy to use and checked by webcams.

I try to avoid going to the mall with my bike, too much morons in cages for my liking

If I'm parking at work, I leave room for another bike. In a general parking lot (like Wally World), I park in the middle of the spot and usually further away from the door than I normally would. I believe this helps with visibility plus most people don't want to park further out, so won't even drive out that way.

I don't park in the hatched areas, my luck my ride would get towed.

As for the obsession with my driving speed, what a moronic question, IMO. You & I both know the answer to that, but unfortunately, this thread isn't about speeding. It's about PARKING. Start a thread about speeding and I won't be making any stands.

Are you able to understand all of that or does your affliction prevent logical thought processes?

Ahhh, this is fun, huh!?
You applied the logic of what you are and are not supposed to do to parking. That was your reasoning for calling me and others douches who think we're special.

I'm just applying your own reasoning to your own behavior.

Knowing that you exceed the speed limit, which you are NOT supposed to do, I guess that makes you special, right? If I'm a douche for parking where I'm not supposed to, then using your own reasoning and argument, you must be a douche for speeding, eh?

And the sidewalk where I park is outside of an establishment that is located within a shopping center. Just like Walmart, and in fact across the street from a Walmart, where I also park on the concrete walk in front of the building with the blessing of the store.

The moral of this story is that you should not apply logic and reason to behavior you disagree with if you're not willing to apply the same logic and reason to your own behavior.

It boils down to it being OK for you doing things that you're not supposed to because it's you doing it.

When you do that with people, all they're going to hear is an *******.

PS: Walmart is very definitely private property.

I would think the police or the owner of the establishment would take a dim view of that.
I agree with you. When myself or friends park on the sidewalk, we are never in the way or even a hinderance to anyone. If fact I get to the point where I usually park by riding up the handicap sidewalk that is flush with the asphalt, but I pull up tight against the building leaving plenty of room for everyone, including a wheelchair.

As mentioned, the owner knows exactly where and how we park, and he has no problem with it.

Laughing....we're not dummies! We don't want people tripping over or bumping into our bikes!
