What to use on light scratches and swirl marks?

Harley swirl and scratch remover comes in a bottle not expensive and it (WORKS!)
I tried that stuff on my black Nighttrain & it was the WORST! Looked like I hit the paint with steel wool. Thankfully I tried it on a small,hidden area of the paint under the seat first. Went right in the garbage.

Just out of curiousity...
Aren't most modern bikes clear-coated after the initial base color spray?
If so, how or why would something like Turtle Wax Black Box be effective? Or is the word "Black" in the title irrelevant?
Not trying to be argumentive, just curious.
I have a Black 2011 RKC, have always used just a little Meguiars #7 Glaze, then Black Magic Wax. (There is that "black" word again!)
Still looks like (better than?) new.
Also, on a black bike, spend a lot of time "rinsing" the bike off before you start washing it , to get ALL dust and dirt off, then always use either a new, or a freshly washed mitt so as not to transfer old dirt.
Here I am pontificating about cleaning bikes - I should do it much more often! Trouble is: When it's nice enough weather outside to wash the bike, it's also nice enough to ride...

dickey .... Perhaps you could let the MOCO know ( Phone,text or Email ) and tell them they have made a huge F$$k up with their product and withdraw all stock from the dealers ...... or maybe just follow what it say's on the bottle?

Also when you got those very small dings and usually the regular wax fills in those little dings and now they are visible. This black so they do not highlight these little dings or scuffs.
I was amazed at it...how good the bike comes out.

I've used the Harley stuff with good results, it took a couple of times though. I also try to never wipe my bike off while it's dry; probably the biggest reason for the fine scratches and swirl marks...

Most important imho was to use clean buffing wheels or rags, change often, even if they still look clean.
