I'm not really sure what the difference was. I was also having a problem with intermittent power and audio outages, you could move theGPS ever so slightly in the cradleand the new cradle fixed that. I used to shove a business card between the bottom of the GPS and the cradle. I also had a problem with the clip on the bottom of the cradle not catching firmly in the second notch of the hot shoe, added a second spring under the clip and fixed that. After getting the new cradle, I went ahead and added the spring, slid it on and haven't removed it in six months. No problems with power or sound.

Thanks, I have noticed a few times thatwhen I turn the ignition on, my power connection seems to be wacky for a few seconds like one of the connecting pins isn't quite connecting. It's usually gone away on it's own but removing and snapping it back on has always fixed it. Good idea about the stronger spring. I think I'll take a look at that. It's also good to know that Garmin can help if you have a problem with the cradle.Thanks again.

Hi All,
Just want to thank you all, I spoke to Garmin last night and they are shipping me the new cradle. Once received and there is a noticeable difference, I will take another pickture and put on this forum.

Cheers
Gerard

Thanks, that will be helpful. Do I understand from this that Garmin is replacing these under some kind of warranty but HD would make you pay for the replacement cradle? That would be a raw deal if someone didn't have this forum to go to and find out. Sounds like Harley should get on board and work with Garmin on this, especially if this has been an occasional sore spotwith this cradle mount.

Hi Guys,
I got my new cradle sent by Garmin FREE OF CHARGEand as promised, I am sending pictures to show the difference between the old and new cradle.
Must say, even the number printed on the actual part that broke off is still the same but there is a slight difference.

The only visual difference is the clip that locks the cradle into the shoe - circled in red. Also the side view shows a slight thickness on the new one.I did not open the cradle, so can not say if there is another kind of enforcement on the inside....

Again I want to say thanks to you guys and Garmin for standing behind their products !

Cheers
Gerard

[sm=bounceybounce.gif][sm=bounceybounce.gif][sm=bounceybounce.gif]Love this forum!!!!!!!!!!!

The bottom clip on my cradle poped yesterday. I recalled seeing something on the forums about it; did a search; found this thread.

I called the 800 number in the thread and Garmin is sending a new cradle under waranty. I only wish MOCO would stand behind their product like Garmin!

Thanks Guys!

Can anyone supply me with part numbers. I also need part numbers for the hard wire kit. Bought Harley Davidson Road Tech Quest off eBay so probably won't get any free-bees
