Default eBay rant...

Searching "FXDXT" used to yield about 20+ results to go thru, now some commercial vendor has spammed up the search with what looks like his entire catolog, every fitment on every part 1600 items, most of which are the same item for a different model, same picture...I've sent a message to the vendor and to eBay...am I the only one who has noticed this??? Rant over; thanks for letting me vent...or am I just getting cranky in my old age?

See it all the time. Mostly LED bling, motorcycle covers or blue headlight bulbs. Irritating as hell to see two solid pages of BS out of three. The only reason I can see why they are allowed to list this crap as model specific is because Ebay make money on it. I've complained to Ebay and have gotten no response. Complaints VS money, money wins.

Yep. Same with air and oil filters. And don't forget batteries.
Makes you give up about looking for that one particular item, doesn't it?

Same thing here. I spoke with Customer Support and was informed that new policies allow large volume sellers to have the most visibility. Which means they are now allowed to flood Ebay with their items instead of limiting their items to their Ebay store.

I've always thought there must be some way to block results from a specific seller somewhere on the site, but haven't figured it out. Anybody ever been able to do this?

Another reason I gave ebay the curb treatment a couple years ago , I'll use them as a last resort on target items but that's it . They encourage the spam monkeys it up's their cut .

What I do when I'm looking for something for my Dyna is use killwords to avoid the bulbs and crap. For example:

Dyna -bulb -filter -sticker -LED

Searching for that will give me all results, but anything with bulb, filter, sticker, or LED will NOT be included.

Ebay has become too large for it's own good. Seems like I am spending more and more time on Amazon and actually finding much better deals.

So all you have to do to create a killword is put a "-" infront of it??

This could help a lot!

Thanks. I spent a little time this morning and found that works if you enter the seller's name, also. It would be great if you could apply that to all of your searches instead of each one specifically, though. Sellers can enter a buyer's name and have it blocked, but not the other way around.
