Glad you are both ok, posted a reply a while back that I couldn't lock the front wheel, turns out the adrenaline wasn't there until a deer jumped out in front of me! Scary stuff!!!
The quick stop is a good thing the do but also practice a quick swerve and end up in the same track you started in and once you have that practice and quick swerve while your braking!!
Glad your ok!!
Glad you're able to celebrate another birthday Schu.
Not a panic stop story but I had a woman pass me in the left lane on a 3 lane section of I75.I noticed her right rear tire was wobbling badly and when she was about 10 car lengths past me it blew out.She hit the brakes and I looked for my escape route.I grabbed a foot full of rear, released and swerved around her gunning it for all it was worth.
As her *** end started swinging (the car you pervs) she threw hands up in front of her face and bounced off the concrete median divider. Her plastic bumper tore off and went sliding across the highway, which I just kissed with the engine guard on my way past.In my rearview I watched her roll across 3 lanes and come to a stop against the cable fence on the shoulder.
Talk about a WTF moment. She made no attempt to control, just hammer the brakes and cover her face.
After that maneuver my wife says she has complete faith in me when we ride two up.
I just hope her faith is well founded.

She must watch NASCAR. Thats what Danica Patrick does before she hits the wall.
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Everyday this forum reminds me to use the tools from the MSF. I recently received the Ride like A pro DVD, watching on TV is nice, but I'm going to take the actual course.
Nothing for me to add here except that I'm really happy that you and your lady are ok Schu.. Other than that.. I agree.. skills practice is a good thing..
Happy birthday Shu - good job stopping. Around here the biggest problem is people tailgating so close you can't even touch your brakes. One guy yesterday in his Dodge ram pickup taking the name too seriously.
