If you like the Dyna, buy it. If the dealer likes the softail let him buy it. I happen to like Dynas far more than any softie, so I'd be buying the Dyna. Bottom line, you are the one doing the riding, not the dealer. Pedals can be adjusted and replaced, so that's a non-issue from my POV.

Thanks everyone for your input. If Harley still made the softtail deluxe from the early 2000's I would go that way, But I'm definately leaning towards the Dyna, just because I like the way it looks and feels. I guess I'm just gonna have to make a decision, and go with it. I graduate from Nursing School in Oct and I will be making a purchase around the first of the year.I can hardly wait. The guys at Route 66 Harley here in Tulsa run when I walk in the door, 'cause they know I have tons of questions and that I'm not buying till I get out of school. Oh well. Again thanks for your nput.

Default My 2 pennies

I have ridden both. IMO, the Dynas are a tad more comfortable. I am short, and don't have a lot of A$$ so suspension matters. That said, I did go into a dealer planning on buying a Road King and rode home on a Fat Boy Lo. Simply because, as another member wrote, that bike fit me. It was used and had a lot of mods that made it more comfortable and appealing.

You can change almost anything on these bikes to make them fit better. I just like starting with something closer to "my" ideal, so the mods will be less.

Both are great, enjoy!

Ride Safe!

I've owned both (not just test rides around the block) and there is a reason I don't ride softies anymore. Yes the engines are smoother at idle but start to buzz at highway speeds The Dynas vibrate at idle (real men like this) and it goes away when you pull away. Dynas feel like Harleys, Softies like...well you get the idea. Bonus...the Dyna 88/96ers will stomp the Softs 103 everyday all day.

Dyna by 2 miles!
guess im not a MAN because i broke my wrist two different times and dont like it getting the **** wiggled out of it at idle.i broke my wrist in a wrestling match and football.is that man enoough for you? LOL anyways, like i said if all harleys rode like dynas the wide glide in particular i would never want to own a harley.the fatbob is a kickass dyna though,my favorite by far!

Yep. Buy what feels better to you. Don't let sales guy push you one way or the other. You get what YOU want. With all the banter back & forth on Dyna vs Softail, both are fine bike and and can be modded to fit what ever you want.

I have both Actually the sone has the WG and my daughter has a FB but I own and ride both.

I really dont have a preferance. We had forward controls put on the WG and hiway bar and pegs on the FB as we are all tall.

As others have said, test ride both and one will strike you as the oneyou want or have you looking in other directions.

Also, if the stealer is trying to push you one way its because he will make more on it. Get wat YOU want not what he wants you to get.

If you like that Wide Glide tell the dealer to hush or your money goes elsewhere

I hate it when you go someplace with money to buy something and they try and talk you into something else

Other than that I have never ridden either so take my opinion for what it is worth

Why does a Wide Glide that didn't have forwards already sound odd to me?
Had they been changed before?
