vented pants?
Don't know about vented leather but there are plenty of textile (ballistic nylon) mesh pants on the market from companies like Firstgeat, Tourmaster ,etc.. Have features like armor, stretch panels in the crotch, expandable waists etc. Leather is just too hot in the summer vented or not.
Check Google for:" mesh motorcycle pants" or try online vendors like Newenough or Ridegear.
And my vented leather jacket istolerable enough in summer (& plenty cool when moving).
As you already own chaps one could suggest you wear only them, that would give you plenty of ventilation and unwarranted attention from the village people and polis ..

Actually I'd prefer full pants to chaps anyway (don't have enough meat on my flat butt to be able to sacrifice much), but the chaps were cheap and locally available so I gave them a try. I'll probably get some full pants regardless, but I know they'd be too hot for summer if they aren't available with venting. I'll probably look at those Harley ones, if the legs look they'd stay fastened while open it might be a good option (and I suppose I could come up with some sort of strap to assist the snaps in keeping them fastened in place).
It'sodd, this seems like the sort of product that would be fairly common(vented jackets are everywhere).
I was thinking today about what it's going to be like riding after the winter is over. I took to wearing chaps this fall for the warmth, but I've gotten used to them and really feel more protected wearing them. I think I'd feel even more protected (and less silly looking) with a nice set of overpants. I'd like to be able to go in head-to-toe leather in summer too, but I'm not sure I could handle my own portable sauna. Before I found the vented jacket I usually wear now I sweltered in just a jacket and jeans.
I now have a very nice ventedjacket. It's gotzip-up vents & a zip-out liner so it's really good year-round. Warm enough to ride at 30 degrees and cool enough to ride at 80 degrees. And heavy enough to feel like there's something between me and the asphalt, which I like. What would be really nice is to find a set of leather pants built like my jacket, with vents to let the air through but with leather heavy enough to be worth something. With a set-up like that I'm pretty sure I could be fairly comfortable in all seasons (and still feel protected), but I've never seen anything like that in pants. Is there such a thing out there?

Textile gear is much more protective than denim, about tentimes better as I recall.
The original post was about leather pants for summer.Unless you live way up north, I cannot imagine wearing leather pants would be comfortablewhen it gets hot. Mesh would be a good alternative if one were concerned about the safety of denim.

I have two pair but don't wear them much--most of my rides are fairly long and they don't have as much "give" so not as comfortable. OK for short hops though.

Well it would have, if I had feelings. [&o]
