I want to upgrade my headlight. Is the factory LED the best and worth the 450 or whatever they go for? Would be easier to drop the big bucks the light had a life time warrenty.
What is the device called that strobes the front light? I know that they did a psychological study and designed one years ago. It's supposed to strobe at a special rate. Will this be fine for the LED set up or will it ware it down quick?
I have the LED light. To me it is worth it because it throws light much farther down the road than the standard light does. It is also much more of a "daylight" color. When I ride at night, and behind my friends, they tell me that they just navigate from the light my headlight gives off. It is that bright.
I've had the HD LED headlight and auxiliary lights on my '11 Limited since last September, I love them and think they are worth it. This is despite my having a stone break the LED Headlight lens and shelling out another $500 to have it replaced (whole headlight, it's a sealed system).
You need a different modulator for LED Headlights, so make sure you get the right model of whatever brand you choose.
The brightness of the LED's and the whiteness of the light they cast is fantastic. I've put about 15k miles on since I got them and I'm very happy with the upgrade.
Look at the "Truck Lite" head light. It is much more reasonably priced and just as effective as the HD. Just google truck lite head lamp.
The advantage of the Trucklite is that the performance is better, the cost is lower and the day time visibility is much better. Check out all the comparisons through Google and personal recommendations. Just because it is sold by Harley doesn't make it better.
Led nights are really nice, Very white and bright. personally I cant justify the cost. I have had HiD headlights on my bikes and they are super bright and light up 3 lanes at night..
I rather save the cash and buy other upgrades
