tell us all you have never ever lugged your engine
I'll agree with you that there probably have been a handfull of times when I may have lugged the engine momentarily but it's certainly not a normal or prolonged occurence. And if and when it happens a downshift or disengaging the clutch is an immediate response.
As for coming to a stop in 4th gear when I should be in 2nd gear - I can assure you that has never happened.

and you never miss shifted thinking you should be in 2nd and you were in neutral
I have the speedo/tack combo on my bike, and along with recent performance upgrades, I find that 2K is not lugging the motor in the right conditions. I will twist it up more when I am two up, or going up a hill. I absolutely hate to hear a motor lugged.
As for gearing down, there is a long downhill 2 or 3 miles long, very steep in a nice neighborhood that I buzz thru from time to time. Third gear brakes the long hill with no need to even touch the brakes, and the 'King bellows like a big truck jake brake all the way down as the power duals growl out nice, loud, and deep. I'm sure the big $$$ homes on that street don't like it, but my GF giggles all the way down the hill!
