I've noticed something over the last 6-12 months and am wondering if anyone else is experiencing this - I'll be out riding, not hauling a** just cruising around when I'll suddenly find myself having to defend myself against some ahole in a cage who appears to be trying to either provoke me or make me crash, or maybe both. I'm not talking about some accidental thing either, I'm talking about people who purposfully swerve into my lane, then do every thing they can to stay right in front of me, or people coming up behind me at a light and stopping 1 inch before their bumper hit's my fender, then sitting there revving thier engine and honking their horn (at a red light), or pulling up alongside of me and rolling down thier window and giving me the finger, or... or... it seems like this type of thing happens a lot these days, I don't remember it ever being this bad in the 70's but a lot of times I feel like someone is going to pull up with a shotgun and blam for no apparent reason. I'm curious anyone else experience this type of thing, people in cages being hostile for no apparent reason? Or is it just me?
It's ben pretty bad around here as well. Had some ding-dong almost take out 4 of us on Memorial day trying to pass from the other direction. He didn't give a damn, he was going for it no matter what. We almost had to come to a complete stop and he still nearly creamed us.... and this is on the left coast...
I do not think cagers realise the gravity of how dangerous their actions are to bikers.
The person who caused my accident is living her life while I am currently learning to use my leg and foot while getting accustomed to my permanent titanium alloy hardware. In a few weeks I will hopefully relearn how to walk. Just dreaming of the day that I can get back on a sled.
I think what you perceive as hostility is really just ignorance.
I haven't experienced anything intentional. Maybe it has to do with the area you ride in, if you know what I mean? Are the people in general getting more ignorant?
get a concealed carry permit and start packing
Hopefully, this is a joke. NONE of what OP described comes anywhere near justification to use deadly force. If anyone thinks that flashing a gun is gonna make these types of situations better, they're wrong and liable to get killed for it.

I've seen similar instances, though not as blatant as you describe. I would have to agree with BP, it's seems more of an act of ignorance. Be safe sir...
I kind of agree on the ignorance perspective, but at some point it becomes very borderline. As many times as we've all seen downed bikes on the news, you would think it would start to sink in to everyone on the road that we are pretty vulnerable. The sad fact is, if you do not ride, you really have no clue what can happen to a two-wheeler when you act like a jackass in traffic. I hesitate to say that people don't care, some surely do. But in my experiences, conversations, etc. with non-riders, most really aren't aware of how the environment affects us and to what extent. All that said, idiots who tailgate or cut us off with blatant disregard for our well being, need to be beat upon with a blunt object.

Get a CCP. Although you didnt seem to describe anything that would warrant using a gun for defense, it's better to be prepared than not.... Whole world is going **** crazy...

Yep... just pure plain ignorance. It's become worse with the advent of cell phones and texting. Just another nuisance you have to constantly be aware of.
