Default Price for 2 new metzlers with mounting...

and balancing etc...about $400. Is that about right from where you live too? Seems kinda high to me. I could probably save $100 if I take off the wheels and drive them there in my car...

Dealer up in Santa Maria is running 20% off tires purchased and mounted there.

my total bill came to 350 bux for front and rear METZ ME880's. That includes the price of the tube as the front tire doesn't come in a tubeless variety. (21 inch). They charged me 108 bux labor, full hour for the rear and half hour charge for the front.
I was satisfied.

American Motorcycle Tire has ME880's in your size for 99.00 front and 119.95 rear. They ship for 8.00 each and an independent shop will mount and balance them off of the bike for about 20.00 each. Total of about 275.00 if you are willing to take them off of the bike and put them back on.

I have done a lot of business with AMT and have never had a problem with their product or service.

Regards,

Bill

For just $75 more you can't beat the deal on the labor

Ilikethe personalization and satisfactonthat working on my own bike brings. I don't have to wonder of some rookie HD mechanic screwed something up, and I have the 75.00 to spend on gas to go somewhere.

Check out Chaparral Motorsports in San Bernardino. They usually have good prices on tires. Then look for a small motorcycle chain store like Cycle Rider or the like. They will mount and balance the new tires on your wheels if you bring the wheels into them for about $15 per wheel. I saved a ton of money when I had my sport bike doing this myself instead of taking the bike to the dealer. I plan on doing this for my Harley when the time comes for new rubber.
