Nuthin wrong with standing out like a sore thumb so maybe that fool in a cage will see you. If you have a sissy bar or trunk, you could put some led's up high, too. Only issue I can think of with switching to led's would be the turn signal control module, I've heard of them not blinking because there isn't enough current draw. But a lot of folks have them, so they can be made to work. Check your local law for the engine lights, they aren't legal some places, beats me why. I wonder if you could put an led strip on the back of a helmet. Put one on the inside of your brake caliper and your spokes would sparkle at night. I like the headlights with an led border around them, too. When I started riding, all bikes had was a weak headlight and a little brake/taillight, not even turn signals. Now we can light em up like a little semi.
I was wondering how much a factory 2012 HD electrical system can handel. I want to run the following.
-LED signals front and rear
-mirrors with led signals
-led break light
-led plate frame with signals,
-side led fender signals
-and led engin lights.
Will this be an issue with the factory set up?
Holy Moly you have done it now!
You have pissed off the REAL biker experts.
If you don't do everything just the way they think you should the you can't be a real biker. Only they know how REAL bikers do things! Only they are REAL bikers!
Why you must be a RUB or a poser or a newbie... just like me...
Depending on exact type of accent LEDs you use and what other electrical loads you have, your electrical system can handle up wards of 300 to 500 plus individual LEDs. Call it 10 to 15 amps.
A word of warning - If you go nuts and install that many LEDs don't run them for long without the engine running. It is no fun trying to jump a Harley.
Just to let you know, I plan on installing accent LEDs sometime this summer. Like I said, I guess I am not a real biker either......
