Can anyone recommend a good bluetooth headset to use with a half helmet. It will be used for GPS purposes only. No intercom or cell phone, etc. I just need to be able to hear the directions. Appreciate any advice.
I have a pair of Plaintronics Backbeat 903+. I really like them but if all you're going to use them for is GPS, they may be more than you're looking for. I think I paid about $50 for them.
I bought this one on Amazon for about $45. It is water resistant (I use it while working out) and would not interfere with your half helmet.
Motorola S10-HD Bluetooth Stereo Headphones
I use a SONY DRCBT-15, a Bluetooth receiver that I put in my pucker of rang around my neck and under my shirt. I plug my sound canceling ear buds into the SONY and I'm good to go.
With a half helmet and no windshield you're good to about 70 MPH after that the wind noise is enough to make hearing difficult. WITH a windshield there's no problem at all.
I have the Sena SMH-10 with the half helmet adaptor (you use ear-buds). I love it. But it is the only 1 I have tried, and it's a bit pricey. But I would rather buy once than multiple times. So I did some research.

Can you give me more info on the adaptor, like name, model # etc. Sena has an SMH-5 which is a less expensive, would the half helmet adaptor work with that as well? Also, are the mics on these things detachable? Where do you attach the unit and adaptor on a half helmet?
I bought a pair of SMH-5s and they suck. One of them was DOA out of the box, and now two weeks later Sena is still giving me the run around to replace the bad wiring harness. The speaker quality is TERRIBLE, so you would need to buy their upgraded speakers, which is another $20 or so each set. The price is right, and I was on a call at 75 with drag pipes and the person figured I was in a car...was shocked I was on a bike, but you DO get what you pay for. Check with Spoiled Biker, they had great prices on headsets.
