Yep, buy a new one.
Put the old one a tender and a couple weeks B4 riding season is done pull the new one and put in the old one. Put the new one on a tender as well as the old one and then when riding season starts again for you, fire up the old one and see.

BTW: That is exactly what I am doing at the moment.

My 2003 883r battery didn't go bad untill my stator went bad. The battery was 8 years old before I had to replace it because the bad stator drained it. ANd I NEVER used a tender on it.

I'm still with the original battery, which will be 5 years old next month. I put it on the tender only during the winter and only when I think it may be 2-3 weeks before I'm able to ride.

My last battery was 7 years old when I replaced it. It was an HD battery.
I replaced it with an agm battery from Batteries Plus. It is made by the same manufacturer the makes the HD battery but it has a 2 year warranty and it was about $50 cheaper.
The AGM batteries are great.
I live in the high desert so I get both hot and cold weather.
