I'm leaving Saturday morning for a 7 hour drive, 2 day layover then another 7 hours to my final stop then returning 6 days later. Do I load the bike in the back of the truck or ride ahead of my wife and kid? This would be my longest ride since getting the bike.

Both. Take a ramp. Ride the pretty areas. Drive the ugly ones.

I'm driving across Texas, it's all pretty. My wife doesn't want to haul the bike in our new truck. She prefers that I ride if I want to bring my bike. I think it might be a blessing in disguise.

You're saying your wife want you to ride? And you're asking us? What are you smoking?

Never put a Harley in the back of a truck or on a trailer if it is not broke down or wrecked.

How often do you get to spend enjoyable time alone away from your wife and kids?

I do it all the time. My wife drives the car to Florida and I take the bike.
