But it irritates me that our government, be it Federal, State, Municipal, etc, can't seem to purchase American made vehicles and firearms anymore.

That was my first thought when I saw the vid. I didn't stick around to see what they were packing.

I agree that all Fed, State or local tax supported entities should purchase American made products.

Heck what is 100% American made anymore? Even our bikes have foreign parts on them.

Yes, but it's a U.S. based company that pays U.S. taxes. The exec's pay U.S. taxes and the employees pay U.S. taxes. It's the right thing to do (as an American). I buy American whenever I can on big purchases, including computers, cars and bikes.

My uncle served on the Saratoga in WWII and one day I noticed not a thing in his house was made in Japan or Germany. I asked him about it and he said something to the effect of, "Why would I spend money to support the Jap economy?" (He was in the Pacific).

He'd tell me about how they would drink "torpedo juice" while on the carrier. They'd take spoonfuls of torpedo fuel and put it in their coffee. That's his story anyway, I dunno why they would put torpedoes on a carrier.

Sorry about the sermon, but Bob Hope is dead and somebody's gotta do it.

Apple is an American based company. They pay U.S. corporate taxes* and their execs and their highest paid employees pay U.S. taxes.

I do have a unAmerican (lol) computer for Windows that I assembled using foreign parts (assembled in the US lol). Like I said, I buy American when I can.

HP and Gateway are American based computer companies that run Windows.

I'm not saying I like offshoring labor, but a US based company that off shores labor is preferred to a foreign based company with foreign labor.

*I know they are locking up a lot of cash offshore, begging for a tax holiday.

*edit the UnAmerican computer does have an Intel processor, Crucial memory and a Western Digital HD in it, so it's more American based company parts than not.
