I am ready to buy new tires and have decided I want to try the Pirelli Night dragons.
Just a little hesitant as I don't do as much night riding as I use to, anyone have any feedback about how these tires perform during the daytime?
Do they grip the warmer road surface as well during the day, or do they only grip really well on the cooler night time surfaces?
Thanks in advance for any insight.
Buy'm,put'm on and don' look back.....got 1 on the rear,and it 'sticks' day/night....wet/dry......will have 1 on the front in the fall.......they rec'mend 40lbs air......I run 38......(180/17)
I know right?!? Seriously. A brand new tire, not even broken in, reduced to a useless piece of junk. 200 miles! 1 lousy day of riding... And I didn't even get to test out it's fire-breathing fury after sunset!!!! Went from the hotel room, across the street to gas up, and as soon as I hit the road with the moon coming up above me, ready to scourge the town of Laconia, burning every villager and straw roof in my sight, I was cut down by a mere scrap of random road debris. Such a dishonorable defeat... False advertising I say! Farce!!!
I have them on my Fatboy front and rear. My only regret is that you didn't post this before I bought them so I could have said to the dealer when he recommended them..."I'll pass, I don't ride much at night."

What a difference this tire makes. I put then on my 06 EGS and have ridden everyday since, a week ago. They have smoothed out the road and have tamed the turns. Really put some confidence back into the ride. Ride safe.

The only way to truly evaluate these tires is a series of dusk to dark and then dark to dawn experiments. I would buy one of those pistol grip thermomerters and keep very precise records of pavement temps, humidity, rotation of the earth, north vs southern hemisphere and so forth. If you really work at it I predict the answer will become obvious.
