Default Jack Maintenance: Pitbull

I bought a Pitbull Jack for my Roadking off CL. Its the Dyna Model with the air line feature so I dont have to get a calf workout if I so choose. I haveno idea how old it actually is but it was literally used 1 single time by the former owner before he sold his bike. The condition is brand new. The only thing is I didnt get any paperwork or manual with it. Operation is simple but I am curious about all the zerk fittings. Everything seems a bit stiff. For example the lock bars will stay in any position I put them even parellel to the ground. I would think that they should be down and flop over the locks cleats as the lift goes up. I am considering hitting every zerk fitting on the jack with a little heavy duty grease from my grease gun but wanted to be sure there want anything in the manual about greasing the jack.

Thanks

The safety locks were stiff as hell on my PB when it was new. Work them back and forth and they'll loosen up. Look on their website for maintenance info.

I would check on the Pitbull website for their manual. If nothing else call them. I haven't pulled the trigger on a jack yet but after seeing the Pitbull in person at a couple of rally's when I do, its the one I am going to get. Being able to pickup the bike a full 25" is a huge plus over any of the other jacks out there. Sit on a roll around stool and clean the wheels and change the tire out is exactly what I am looking for. Good purchase!

Just back off on the nuts until the stops are free. And the zerk fittings need to be filled.

I looked all over their website and cannot find any reference to the grease fittings other than the fact that they have them. I sent Tony an email and will post his response.

The zerk fittings are dry. Just inject them with a multipurpose grease until the grease ooze's out. It ain't rocket science. And again just back off on the lock bar nuts until they are free. Believe me, you don't need a manual to do this.
