Anyone can have a bad day and itsounds like you've beaten yourself up pretty good over it, so put away the beaten stick, take a deep breath and give it another go. We need your knowledge and experience around here.
Knowledge is power, and being human, sometime that power can be bad as well as good. We all have our fields of expertise, mine isn't H-D. But you'll always run into those that have to one up, one betteranyone else. People that think they know everything, sure are a pain in the butt, to those of us who really do. Your gut will tell ya whether quiting is right or not. I hope it tells ya to forgive yourself and carry on. I for one have been help greatly by yours andOSE knowledge and willingness to share it. Thanks
edited OSE sorry.
.... To tender my resignation as Tech Forum Mod....
I allowed myself to get a personal emotion into a Tech thread, without hesitating, and allowed it to go way off track...
This, in my eyes is truly unprofessional as well as beneath me to do...
I allowed it to happen, and chose not to delete or edit the postings....
I bared myself to all, and I am upset about it......
This forum deserves better than that from me, not only as a moderator, but moreso as a member in good standing....
Man, anybody that can fess up and apologize before it grows cold is an asset to this forum. As far as my vote goes you have nothing to regret and i would not have anyone admin that section but you.
I can't speak for everyone else on this forum but I won't accept your resignation! We all have our off days. Ask a few I've crossed keyboards with.
I quit on the thread in question because I could see me getting no more useful knowledge from it as you and OSE had pretty covered it. I went back and read the rest after I had left. I believe you handled it in a very professional manner. Of course I am biased because I can gain knowledge from you and doubt I would gain any from the instigator/s.
We all have a bad day now and then. It's OK to vent. I, like everyone else, look forward to your answers on all questions about our bikes. You "tell it like it is" that's the way it should be. Helps us to be moreinformed when we go to our dealers for service, or for us do it yourselfers.<is that a word?
Come on,sit back, take your shoes off and stay awhile.
I'll tell you how much I dig you, I used to click on your name and read your most recent posts. I knew I would learn something with every one I read. Sometimes I don't care who names their bike or needs help picking out a model or paint combo. All of you posts really helped me to learn about the beast I ride and havemany questions about. Hell, one time you even called me from work to help me with some questions I had. I truly hope you will reconsider! Don't let it get to you. You apologized (even though you didn't have to) so stand tall (Pittsburgh style) and please don't abandon us! Suck down a few Iron City'sand do a U-turn brother!
Good Luck
