Well I talked the guy with the 96in to drop the price by 3k. So I think I'm going for the 2007 RK Custom.

I really hope this works out. I really appreciated all the input.

Heck if you talked him down 3 grand then in my mind that would be a no brainer. Good deal and good luck.

.
Super! I had a 08 FLHR and a 04 FLHRSI..
I wouldn't have spent an extra $4000 for 3 years and the 96/6spd however, but it was nice to have.

I put one on my '07 Road Glide, and it -does- make a difference, smoother starts in first gear, etc.
It wasn't needed for' 06 and earlier.

It may have been reduced for 2006 as well again in 2007.
Harley states it is the reduced effort for the 2007 model year.

Save the money and buy the 88. The 07's ran hot as hell and you don't need the 6th gear.

That is because of the changes Harley made in the swingarm, starting with the 2007 Model year.
Will not retrofit.

That may be so. They're still touting the redesigned frame in 2012, but it doesn't mean the frame was redesigned in 2012. FYI, frame was redesigned in 2009. Clutch pull was reduced in 2006 model Year.
