One thing about the 2007 I didn't see anyone else mention is that although the cushioned rear sprocket assembly didn't get released until the 2008 models, it is upgradeable "one year back" for the 2007 model year. Won't work on '06's and earlier.
I put one on my '07 Road Glide, and it -does- make a difference, smoother starts in first gear, etc.
FYI My posting was copies directly from the dealer's Info package for 2007. It may have been reduced for 2006 as well again in 2007. Harley states it is the reduced effort for the 2007 model year.
Well I talked the guy with the 96in to drop the price by 3k. So I think I'm going for the 2007 RK Custom.
Wow, best of both worlds. Congrats, and Ride safe.

That is because of the changes Harley made in the swingarm, starting with the 2007 Model year.
Will not retrofit.

That may be so. They're still touting the redesigned frame in 2012, but it doesn't mean the frame was redesigned in 2012. FYI, frame was redesigned in 2009. Clutch pull was reduced in 2006 model Year.
