here's my 02 Roadking in my sig which I've owned since new. great bike, never gave me any troubles. road it x-country and back last year without as much as a hiccup. the seat is a saddleman I think. its very comfortable but its the back rest that does the trick.

Bought a new 2002 RK and had it for two years/17k miles - retired in SoCal. Sold it
and bought a new 2004 Fatboy, did $10k worth of blah, blah, and put 27k miles on it.
In 2009 I traded straight across with a lady for her 2006 Streetglide - too tall and
heavy for her and I've put 14k miles on it since. Mind you, these are all Calif. bikes
with the extra smog junk which I trashed and got all them running pretty good with
the usual add ons - Power Commander, etc. If I were to do it all over again - I'd
have my 2002 RK pushing 50k miles and looking forward to the next 50k. Me - Mustang
seat, Tru-trak similar stabilizer, Redline fork / shock oil change @ 6 to 10 psi rear and
a Stage 1 of your choice. Just my opinion and like a$$holes - everyone's got one.

There's a reason he's letting it go so cheap.......there's a major problem somewhere he's not telling you about

Beware the cam chain tensioners. When they go, they grenade and take the cam with them. A big repair and not cheap to replace either. Other than that, my '02 was a big improvement over my '95. My '10 SESG is (not surprisingly) even better.

They all look old, but the Motor Company keeps refining the package.

For that price, buy it, unless it has a salvage title.

Not necessarily, Bought mine for a little over 6k, see them on LejueneYardSales (sorta like craigslist) every now and then for about the same price. There was a 2006 RKC with 35k miles and about 4k in upgrades for 7999 a few weeks ago.

It all depends on the market in your area. We have a lot of military here that buy bikes for a couple years and get deployed so they turn around and sell them.

EDIT: Wrong person quoted.

Hope it's mechanically sound and everything is on the up and up because it's a nice bike at a very good price. Good luck.
