Default Apes

So I was just wondering why 99% of the apes I see are all straight up instead of pulled towards you a lil bit? The reason I ask is because I have mine towards me and I find it comfortable but was asked why not stand them straight up like they're meant to be a few days ago and didn't have an answer as I have never even attempted it. So just curious

Personal choice. My choice is in line with the forks.

If you have long arms, they are too close otherwise, simple as that! The higher the bars, the more they come back.

It's a matter of personal choice. Most would agree that a pushed forward angle has a more aggressive/custom look. But for many, this is a more comfortable reach.

I put on 16" apes a few hundred miles ago and am waiting a season before I give a review. I have gone through different opinions about the bars as I put on miles, finding the most comfortable position. For me, this is more forward, but I have a 35" sleeve length.

It just looks better IMO. I had to pull mine back to get my Windshield on for Sturgis. I'm not going 1k miles without a windshield.
