Default Shop Labor Charge?
In my neck of the woods both dealers and indies charge $88 per hour shop labor . A few hours away in the Bay area the dealers charge $118. What do they charge in your area?

In southern California the average shop rate is between 100-120 per hour at any HD shop, not sure what an indy shop would charge.

Place I take mine to is $65/hour billed in 1/4 hours.

My local dealer charges $110.00 an hour. A local indy charges $100.00 not much savings there.

I do all my own, that I'm capable of, but the local HD dealer had $65 hr posted on the wall last time I looked end of last year. Prolly nick you for "shop supplies" though.

$80 and hour in Greenville SC. But it's not stright time. If something they say is 4 hours you pay for 4 hours, even if it's 2 to actually do it. But I must say our delaer does outstanding work.

its called "flat rate" time. there is a time set in the book to change your wazoo, 3 hours. I get 3 hours pay whether it takes me 1 hr or 6 hrs, and if it comes back, I get to redo it for free, (unless it a warr. issue) thats just the way its always been. its the same for your car repair

by the way the mechanic doesn't get that 100.00/hr fee we get a small percentage of it, most I know of at this time is about 35% so don't blame the mechanic for the labor prices. you can blame him for shoddy work, but not the labor prices. and its not our fault the the vehicle is poorly designed that to change a wazoo takes 6 hours. blame the manufacturer
