The HD scratch remover works well. Also don't rub off the dust and dirt dry, always wet; I use either a spray detailer or Lemon Pledge. If I do need a quick dusting, I use my wife's feather or micro-filament dusters...
HD has a swirl and scratch treatment part # 94655-98 that I use , works pretty good
NONONONONO!!! That stuff SUX! Used it once & made it worse!!
Best I have found for black is Nanowax spray wax.
Have bought a few new black bikes, & a new black car, and there were always light scratches brand new from the factory. That's life when you have black stuff. One of the reasons I now like having both bikes in white.
I received my 2012 FXDWG two weeks ago and notice scratches in the clear coat on the vivid black portion of my tank. I have washed the bike once lightly with a microfiber hand mitt and soap. However, in certain sunlight angles, I see what appears to be light abrasions in the paint. Is this normal? Nothing ever touches these parts of the bike while I ride.
Try to decipher the scratches in the clear coat or the color coat...It can be decieving!
