that is what the manual says.. cartridge on one side.. conventional on the other.. ? what does that mean in english or cajun. it say's all models except RK
and it needs to be checked at 50k.
what does it mean? What is a cartridge ? or what is it for?
A cartridge is a unit that drops into the fork tube , unlike the other side where the workings are directly inside the tube with no cartridge. It becomes a real PITA to service that side inasmuch as it has to be disassembled to do so, not serviced in the usual manner. Really can't figure out the MOCO's reason for this.[:@]
When I replaced my forks from chrome ones, [sm=bling.gif], I ended up taking just the fork into the shop with the new one and havig them do it. I didn't have the little tool (two of them actually) that you're supposed to have. Guys charged me $125 for the work, I was pissed. So, I'm buying the tool. It is about a PITA that they put that stupid cartridge in the left side. You're supposed to service every 10K...that's not too far off, so, I'll be figuring this one out pretty soon.
