I wear gloves mainly because I have sweaty palms all the damn time (insert joke here). Recently I purchased a pair of Sedici perforated leather with knuckle protector and padded palm. They are sold only at Cycle Gear and have a lifetime guarantee. They are the only pair I've owned that haven't fallen apart (alpinestars, joe rocket, icon, and locally made deerskin gloves). The store employee advised I could exchange them for a new pair if they fall apart due to normal wear and tear. Accidents excluded, of course..

I bought some from Harley back in April that I love. They have a leather palm and the underside of the fingers are leather as well. The rest of the glove is a mesh type fabric. They're not super thin...I just don't know how else to describe the fabric. And in between the fingers, the mesh is about half as thick which is really nice. I've ridden with them on in 90 degree weather and was fine.

These are similar to what I have....but not exact.

Default Summer Gloves

On my second riding season with these. They're kevlar lined, not super comfy but for $10 can't go wrong.

For summer time crusin, what is a good name brand leather glove or is any ole glove good enough as long as it fits well? What name brands to avoid and which to consider?

A local dealer is selling sub $50. dollar "Olyimpia" deerskin gloves that seem thin for summer, but is sub 50. too cheap?
I Amin mesa just north of you. I use a pair from grainger called maxi flex they cost about 4 dollars a pair and work great for summer

I was searching for a very good summer glove and saw these deerskin Engineer gloves from Vanson Leathers. When I looked further, there is a perforated option, same price ($89). I figured that if the quality is anything like my Vanson leather jacket, it would be awesome. Leather is thick and after a short break in, very soft and supple even though it is much thicker than a River Road perforated leather glove I bought last year (which by the way doesn't flow as much air as the Vanson and I doubt will protect my hands as well). Easy on/off, no hot spots, pinching, excellent workmanship, made in Massachusetts. Make sure you follow their sizing. I usually wear a L but after measuring my hands, their size chart said medium. Perfect! Simple yet elegant.

Tried Icon, Triumph, H-D, Alpinestars, Held, Scorpion, Dainese, and a few more well-established brands. Most were too busy looking even in all black. H-D looked like 2-3 year gloves. The Vanson had minimal stitching. Top side was perforated, palm side was not. I can see this glove lasting more than 10 years.
