I have a question concerning Daytona's weather in March. What kind of tempratures can I expect during bike week ? Rain frequency ? I planning on my first trip to bike week this year and don't want to carry any more cold weather gear than necessary.
Thanks,
capt42a
I think they get alittle over 2 inches of rain in the month of March. Last year was perfect mid 70's during the day, 50's at night but, the year before was colder and more cloudy. Looks like it could snow this year for all we know
I was looking on line for that info and found one guys site that was the weather for past bike weeks since like 96 or 97
Living in the area I can tell you this. That time of year can be funny! Allot of times it will be warm during the day but when the sun drops it can get COLD!
I've spent numerous days puttin around Daytona and then over to Ormond Beach with jeans and a T-shirt during the day. The sun drops and you find yourself having a good time and put on a jacket while your visiting with friends, looking around etc.
Before you know it its 10:00pm and time to go and its Cold! Full leathers and chaps for me, you can see your breath and your thinking, WTF happened!
Last year, on the last weekend, a front came through Friday night, 40MPH winds and temp in the low 40s.
The wind was real strong those 2 days, but Sunday it calmed down and the temp were back to the 70s.
There have been years that it was a near wash out every day, others where it was so dry that brush fires caused lots of smoke to blanketthe town.
Good luck to us all this year!
