I think for just one jacket your best bet is a textile jacket with a liner and vents. It won't be perfect for all weather but pretty close. For leather jackets made in the U.S. I really like Schott and Fox Creek. You can't beat Fox Creek for customer service, they will send you a test jacket to be sure and get the size right. I don't like the HD leather because they make them in Pakistan or China but still charge you like it was made by U.S. union labor. That and it's got their cheesy logos all over it.

I have a Fox Creek leather jacket I wear year-round.
Rain, some snow, wind, day, night. . .I just don't see the point in getting another jacket when the one I have works perfectly fine with a little adjustment to match the weather.
