The next thing I want to do to the bike is change out the stock black cables. I've seen the regular stainless steel cables and the Diamondback cables H-D makes, and I do like the Diamondbacks. But what about other brands? Anyone recommend anything other than H-D cables?
I don't know anything about them other than what has been said on this forum...
You want to have ones that have a clear vinyl cover on them, correct? And I seem to recall that they need to be replaced on a regular basis? Could be wrong.

I don't have the braided cables yet either. But yes you want to have the vinyl cover to protect your paint. I haven't heard of anything needing replaced but I could be wrong.
I just purchased the Diamondbacks and I'm very impressed
with the quality of these cables. I think Barnetts makes cables
as well but not 100% sure on that.

That's why you buy the ones with the clear covering. With out this outer covering, dirt can get between the braid and the inner tube and grind through the inner tubing. You can't see this happening.

Ah... I knew I had read about both things... that makes sense now.
Thanks!
